DWL-G122 Driver for Mac OS X

A search on Google shows many users aren’t able to install the D-Link DWL-G122 on their Macs. Some of them were able to get it working by download Ralink Tech driver, but it didn’t work for me. Well, good news is I’ve found the driver made by D-Link. No more third party drivers, this worked for me.

Problem

Initial search results led me to macosxhints.com where Ralink Tech’s driver was recommended, if your hardware version is B1. I’m using B1, but after the installing the driver, the USB Wireless Utility isn’t able to detect the DWL-G122 despite showing up on System Profiler.

Bottom line, didn’t work out for me.

Solution

I finally found my disc! So here’s the driver in the disc that came along with my DWL-G122. I’ve attached the driver as a zip file below. It worked with mine, a DWL-G122 with H/W Version B1 on a Mac OS X (Panther). Hope this helps.

PS: The driver will not work with Mac with Intel processors.

It won’t work for Intel Mac, as they should already have a Extreme card inside? The driver is meant for the older PowerPc models.
